A top price for Gu Hongming - as previously expected
The work Calligraphy In Running Script by Gu Hongming was sold in the Chinese Painting and Calligraphy from the Four Seas auction at China Guardian in Hong Kong in October 2015. The price achieved of HKD 118,000.00 (€ 13,785.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Calligraphy In Running Script is the most expensive artwork by Gu Hongming that we have observed at auctions so far.
