Auction result well in line with expectations
In April this year Bonhams held the auction Classic & Contemporary Photographs, which included the work Untitled (balloons in backyard) (from the series 'Hover') by Gregory Crewdson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,080.00 (€ 3,695.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gregory Crewdson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Dream House Portfolio in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 169,000.00 (€ 115,059.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Classic & Contemporary Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (balloons in backyard) (from the series 'Hover') von Gregory Crewdson zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.080,00 (€ 3.695,65) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gregory Crewdson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Dream House Portfolio im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 169.000,00 (€ 115.059,91).
