Auction result well in line with expectations

In September 2000 Christies in London held the auction Exploration & Travel with Visions of India, which included the work Farm Labourers Cottage, Bervlei valley, Wellington, Cape by Gregoire Johannes Boonzaier. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,115.00 (€ 3,539.04) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gregoire Johannes Boonzaier - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Haystacks, which sold at auction in December 2008 for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 8,533.61).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im September 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion Exploration & Travel with Visions of India durch, in der auch die Arbeit Farm Labourers Cottage, Bervlei valley, Wellington, Cape von Gregoire Johannes Boonzaier zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.115,00 (€ 3.539,04) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Gregoire Johannes Boonzaier mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Haystacks beobachtet, die im Dezember 2008 für GBP 8.125,00 (€ 8.533,61) versteigert wurde.
