Despite a disappointment, a good price for Grattan Condon

This work of art by Grattan Condon could be acquired at Bonhams in Los Angeles in December last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the California and Western Art Online auction, the work Horse Race 21 x 36 in. framed 28 x 43 in. changed hands for USD 1,275.00 (€ 1,191.81) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Despite this disappointing result, Horse Race 21 x 36 in. framed 28 x 43 in. is the most expensive artwork by Grattan Condon that we have observed at auction so far.
