In September last year Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts held the auction American Works of Art, which included the work Going Home by Grandma Moses. The »bidding war« ended at USD 19,125.00 (€ 19,549.22), 59% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Grandma Moses achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sugaring Off in November 2006 with an auction result of USD 1,360,000.00 (€ 1,025,563.68).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 59 % übertroffen
Im September letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts die Auktion American Works of Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Going Home von Grandma Moses zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 19.125,00 (€ 19.549,22) und damit 59% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Grandma Moses erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sugaring Off im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.360.000,00 (€ 1.025.563,68).
