Auction result well in line with expectations
In September last year Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts held the auction American Works of Art, which included the work Beyond the Lake by Grandma Moses. The price achieved of USD 63,375.00 (€ 64,780.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Grandma Moses achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sugaring Off in November 2006 with an auction result of USD 1,360,000.00 (€ 1,025,563.68).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts die Auktion American Works of Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Beyond the Lake von Grandma Moses zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 63.375,00 (€ 64.780,74) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Grandma Moses erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sugaring Off im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.360.000,00 (€ 1.025.563,68).
