This price was achieved in the auction The Political Cartoon Collection of Jeffrey Archer at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 900.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Graham Laidler; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot ‘Popular Misconceptions – How To Win The War’ sold at auction in March 2018 with the realized price of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 3,984.94).
