Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master and 19th Century European Paintings and Drawings, including Property from the Estate of Giancarlo Baroni, which included the work A Woman In An Interior Peeling Vegetables by Govaert Dircksz. Camphuysen. The price achieved of USD 11,875.00 (€ 9,079.44) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Govaert Dircksz. Camphuysen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An amorous couple in a barn with herdsmen at the door in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 57,600.00 (€ 85,485.61).
