This artwork by Gottfried Wedig achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in April 2020. In the The Rafael Valls Sale auction, the work Portrait Of A Lady, Aged 26, Half-Length, Wearing A Black Dress With Elaborate Gold Embroidery, Gold Chains, Lace Cuffs And Collar, Pearl Jewellery And A Bonnet sold for GBP 20,000.00 (€ 23,006.85) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gottfried Wedig - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portraits Of Peter Ostermann And His Wife Gertrude Kiever, which sold at auction in January 2020 for USD 93,750.00 (€ 84,512.76).

In der Auktion The Rafael Valls Sale wurde die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady, Aged 26, Half-Length, Wearing A Black Dress With Elaborate Gold Embroidery, Gold Chains, Lace Cuffs And Collar, Pearl Jewellery And A Bonnet für GBP 20.000,00 (€ 23.006,85) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Gottfried Wedig mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portraits Of Peter Ostermann And His Wife Gertrude Kiever beobachtet, die im Januar 2020 für USD 93.750,00 (€ 84.512,76) versteigert wurde.
