Auction result well in line with expectations

In July 2005 Christies in London held the auction OLD MASTER PICTURES, which included the work Portrait of A Lady, Half-Length, In A Ruff Collar And A Black Silk Dress, Wearing A Gold Chain by Gortzius Geldorp. The price achieved of GBP 4,800.00 (€ 6,962.35) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gortzius Geldorp - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Virgin And Child With Saint Anne, which sold at auction in May 2019 for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 19,808.95).

Im Juli 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion OLD MASTER PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of A Lady, Half-Length, In A Ruff Collar And A Black Silk Dress, Wearing A Gold Chain von Gortzius Geldorp zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.800,00 (€ 6.962,35) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Gortzius Geldorp mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Virgin And Child With Saint Anne beobachtet, die im Mai 2019 für GBP 17.500,00 (€ 19.808,95) versteigert wurde.
