Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2006 Christies in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings, Part II, which included the work Christ; And The Virgin Mary by Gortzius Geldorp. It changed hands for a price of USD 16,800.00 (€ 13,307.98) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Other works by Gortzius Geldorp have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2019 the work The Virgin And Child With Saint Anne was auctioned for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 19,808.95).
