Auction result misses estimated price range

When the work Head form by Gordon Baldwin was auctioned at Phillips in New York in June last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,772.00 (€ 2,647.82). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gordon Baldwin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Three 'Monad' Forms, which sold at auction in March 2016 for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 9,469.49).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Als die Arbeit Head form von Gordon Baldwin im Juni letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.772,00 (€ 2.647,82) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Gordon Baldwin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Three 'Monad' Forms beobachtet, die im März 2016 für GBP 7.500,00 (€ 9.469,49) versteigert wurde.
