In March 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work Spanish Busy Street Scene, Mahon by Gonzalo Bilbao. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,636.71), 72% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Gonzalo Bilbao have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Las Majas En El Parque (Women In The Park) in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 42,500.00 (€ 59,511.00).

Im März 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion British and Continental Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Spanish Busy Street Scene, Mahon von Gonzalo Bilbao zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.636,71) und damit 72% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gonzalo Bilbao auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Las Majas En El Parque (Women In The Park) im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 42.500,00 (€ 59.511,00).
