This work of art by Giuseppe Pitto could be acquired at Christies in London in March 2002 for an unexpectedly low price. In the NINETEENTH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART auction, the work Al mercato changed hands for GBP 1,410.00 (€ 2,304.98) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Despite this disappointing result, Al mercato is the most expensive artwork by Giuseppe Pitto that we have observed at auction so far.
