In May 2000 Christies in Milan held the auction Arte del XX secolo, which included the work Cavalli al pascolo by Giuseppe Cesetti. The »bidding war« ended at ITL 8,225,000.00 (€ 7,054.03), 65% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Giuseppe Cesetti have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fantini sui tetti di Roma in November 2010 with an auction result of EUR 28,520.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 65 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2000 führte Christies in Mailand die Auktion Arte del XX secolo durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cavalli al pascolo von Giuseppe Cesetti zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von ITL 8.225.000,00 (€ 7.054,03) und damit 65% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Giuseppe Cesetti auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fantini sui tetti di Roma im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 28.520,00.
