In July 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters Day Sale, which included the work David meeting Abigail by Giovanni Gioseffo dal Sole. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 18,900.00 (€ 22,164.17), 26% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giovanni Gioseffo dal Sole - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Penitent Magdalene, which sold at auction in June 2007 for USD 114,000.00 (€ 84,319.53).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Masters Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit David meeting Abigail von Giovanni Gioseffo dal Sole zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 18.900,00 (€ 22.164,17) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Gioseffo dal Sole mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Penitent Magdalene beobachtet, die im Juni 2007 für USD 114.000,00 (€ 84.319,53) versteigert wurde.
