A top price for Giovanni Domenico Ferretti - as previously expected
In January 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings & Sculpture Day Sale, which included the work Christ Driving The Money Lenders From The Temple by Giovanni Domenico Ferretti. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 162,500.00 (€ 150,018.46) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Christ Driving The Money Lenders From The Temple is the most expensive artwork by Giovanni Domenico Ferretti that we have observed at auctions so far.
