Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Easter Lamb, in a historiated initial ‘V’ on a leaf from an illuminated Sequentiary on vellum Siena, c.1435-40 by Giovanni di Paolo was sold in the Classic Art Evening Sale: Antiquity to 20th Century auction at Christies in London in July 2020. The price achieved of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 27,885.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni di Paolo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Saint Clare rescuing the shipwrecked in December 2019 with an auction result of GBP 5,313,750.00 (€ 6,280,230.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Easter Lamb, in a historiated initial ‘V’ on a leaf from an illuminated Sequentiary on vellum Siena, c.1435-40 von Giovanni di Paolo wurde im Juli 2020 in der Auktion Classic Art Evening Sale: Antiquity to 20th Century bei Christies in London versteigert.
