Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master and 19th Century European Art, which included the work The Crucifixion by Giovanni Camillo Sagrestani. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,313.00 (€ 3,579.95) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Giovanni Camillo Sagrestani have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Pietà in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 15,600.00 (€ 23,166.49).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master and 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Crucifixion von Giovanni Camillo Sagrestani zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 5.313,00 (€ 3.579,95) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Giovanni Camillo Sagrestani auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Pietà im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 15.600,00 (€ 23.166,49).
