Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2012 Sothebys in London held the auction 19th Century European Paintings, which included the work Italian the Wool Winders by Giovanni Battista Torriglia. The price achieved of GBP 28,750.00 (€ 35,417.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Admittedly, works by Giovanni Battista Torriglia have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Italian The Thread Of Life in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 228,500.00 (€ 319,959.12).

Im November 2012 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 19th Century European Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Italian the Wool Winders von Giovanni Battista Torriglia zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 28.750,00 (€ 35.417,08) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden.
