Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Madonna in prayer by Giovanni Battista Salvi was auctioned at Christies in July this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 63,000.00 (€ 73,501.91) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Giovanni Battista Salvi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Madonna and Child embracing in an interior, a landscape with Saint Joseph beyond in July 2012 with an auction result of GBP 433,250.00 (€ 551,844.05).

Die Arbeit The Madonna in prayer von Giovanni Battista Salvi kam im Juli diesen Jahres bei Christies zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 63.000,00 (€ 73.501,91) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
