Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Madonna and Child with the rose by Giovanni Battista Salvi was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 30,240.00 (€ 24,919.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Battista Salvi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Madonna and Child embracing in an interior, a landscape with Saint Joseph beyond in July 2012 with an auction result of GBP 433,250.00 (€ 551,844.05).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Madonna and Child with the rose von Giovanni Battista Salvi kam im Januar 2021 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 30.240,00 (€ 24.919,65) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
