Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Madonna and Child by Giovanni Battista Salvi was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2020. The price achieved of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 55,771.19) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Giovanni Battista Salvi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Madonna and Child embracing in an interior, a landscape with Saint Joseph beyond in July 2012 with an auction result of GBP 433,250.00 (€ 551,844.05).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Madonna and Child von Giovanni Battista Salvi kam im Juli 2020 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 55.771,19) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Giovanni Battista Salvi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Madonna and Child embracing in an interior, a landscape with Saint Joseph beyond im Juli 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 433.250,00 (€ 551.844,05).
