A top price for Giovanni Battista Pace
This artwork by Giovanni Battista Pace achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2018. In the Old Masters/New Scholars: Works of Art Sold to Benefit Rugby School auction, the work Saint Luke painting the Virgin sold for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 19,496.55) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. This high result makes Saint Luke painting the Virgin the most expensive artwork by Giovanni Battista Pace that we have observed at auctions so far.
