It achieved a price of USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,314.19), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 25%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giovanni Battista Lama - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Archangel Michael, which sold at auction in January 2005 for USD 18,000.00 (€ 13,794.16).

Die Arbeit Rinaldo called back to arms by Ubaldo and Carlo von Giovanni Battista Lama kam im August 2017 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.314,19) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 25%. Für andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Battista Lama mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Archangel Michael beobachtet, die im Januar 2005 für USD 18.000,00 (€ 13.794,16) versteigert wurde.
