Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In January 2009 Christies in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture, which included the work The Adoration of the Shepherds by Giovanni Battista Castello. Here, the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 31,250.00 (€ 24,406.44). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giovanni Battista Castello - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Adoration Of The Magi, which sold at auction in January 2014 for USD 100,000.00 (€ 74,074.07).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Januar 2009 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Adoration of the Shepherds von Giovanni Battista Castello zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 31.250,00 (€ 24.406,44) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Battista Castello mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Adoration Of The Magi beobachtet, die im Januar 2014 für USD 100.000,00 (€ 74.074,07) versteigert wurde.
