Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Giorgio de Chirico could be acquired at Christies in London in December this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Ancient to Modern Art from the Mougins Museum of Classical Art, Part I auction, the work Achille sulle rive del mare Egeo changed hands for GBP 37,800.00 (€ 43,544.15) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 50,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giorgio de Chirico achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Il Pomeriggio Di Arianna (Ariadne’S Afternoon) in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 15,890,400.00 (€ 13,643,341.63).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Giorgio de Chirico konnte im Dezember diesen Jahres bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Ancient to Modern Art from the Mougins Museum of Classical Art, Part I wechselte die Arbeit Achille sulle rive del mare Egeo für GBP 37.800,00 (€ 43.544,15) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 50.000,00 – 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giorgio de Chirico erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Il Pomeriggio Di Arianna (Ariadne’S Afternoon) im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.890.400,00 (€ 13.643.341,63).
