Upper estimate price exceeded by 28 %.
The work Wet Season At Wamungu by Ginger Riley Munduwalawala was sold in the Aboriginal Art auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in July 2009. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 10,200.00 (€ 5,774.85), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ginger Riley Munduwalawala achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work My Mothers Country, 1996 in April 2021 with an auction result of AUD 196,800.00 (€ 163,591.02).
