Auction result well in line with expectations

The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 14,342.16) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gillis Coignet the Elder - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Abduction Of Europa, which sold at auction in January 2016 for USD 32,500.00 (€ 30,003.69).
