Auction result well in line with expectations

The work An Allegory Of Religious Life by Gillis Coignet the Elder was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,730.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gillis Coignet the Elder - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Abduction Of Europa, which sold at auction in January 2016 for USD 32,500.00 (€ 30,003.69).

Die Arbeit An Allegory Of Religious Life von Gillis Coignet the Elder kam im Dezember 2011 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 9.730,84) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
