Auction result well in line with expectations

In July 2013 Christies in London held the auction Old Masters & British Paintings, which included the work A rocky landscape with Christ on the Road to Emmaus by Gillis Claesz. d'Hondecoeter. The price achieved of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,570.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gillis Claesz. d'Hondecoeter - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Deer, a goat, a cat, a fox and birds in a wooded landscape, which sold at auction in May 2001 for NLG 70,500.00 (€ 33,961.74).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im Juli 2013 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Masters & British Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A rocky landscape with Christ on the Road to Emmaus von Gillis Claesz. d'Hondecoeter zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.570,06) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 6.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Gillis Claesz. d'Hondecoeter mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Deer, a goat, a cat, a fox and birds in a wooded landscape beobachtet, die im Mai 2001 für NLG 70.500,00 (€ 33.961,74) versteigert wurde.
