Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2008 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work The first jump in the National...and the last by Gilbert Joseph Holiday. The price achieved of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 3,022.69) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gilbert Joseph Holiday achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tattenham Corner, The Epsom Derby in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 43,250.00 (€ 47,848.09).
