Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2012 Christies in London held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art, which included the work Burden by Gigi Scaria. The price achieved of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 3,095.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gigi Scaria achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Someone Left a Horse on the Shore in November 2007 with an auction result of HKD 487,500.00 (€ 42,616.42).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Burden von Gigi Scaria zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.500,00 (€ 3.095,60) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gigi Scaria erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Someone Left a Horse on the Shore im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 487.500,00 (€ 42.616,42).
