Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Pearl Wall Wing with Signed Golden Plate II by Gianni Piacentino was auctioned at Christies in June last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 32,760.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gianni Piacentino - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bivest + 1, which sold at auction in April 2013 for EUR 86,032.70.
