Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Giovanni Antonio Burrini could be acquired at Christies in New York in January 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master & 19th Century Drawings auction, the work A group of figures at a table reading books changed hands for USD 2,880.00 (€ 2,368.81) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Antonio Burrini achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Saint Jerome in December 2002 with an auction result of GBP 23,900.00 (€ 36,687.70).
