Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Triumph of Silenus; and The Education of Cupid: two friezes of putti by Giacinto Gimignani was auctioned at Christies in London in April 2000. The price achieved of GBP 493.50 (€ 844.85) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giacinto Gimignani achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Venus Awakened By Cupid in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 48,000.00 (€ 38,022.81).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 493,50 (€ 844,85) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giacinto Gimignani erzielen.
