Sold at the lower estimate price
In January 2018 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master & British Drawings, which included the work Bacchus discovering Ariadne on Naxos by Giacinto Gimignani. The result of USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,413.90) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giacinto Gimignani achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Venus Awakened By Cupid in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 48,000.00 (€ 38,022.81).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Januar 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master & British Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bacchus discovering Ariadne on Naxos von Giacinto Gimignani zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.413,90) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 4.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giacinto Gimignani erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Venus Awakened By Cupid im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 48.000,00 (€ 38.022,81).
