This artwork by Gertrude Greene achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in January 2009. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Untitled #38C3 sold for USD 4,750.00 (€ 3,709.78) - well above the upper estimate of USD 2,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Gertrude Greene; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Untitled (38C2) sold at auction in February 2016 with the realized price of USD 5,000.00 (€ 4,600.66).
