Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Gerard Wigmana could be acquired at Christies in New York in April 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Masters Part II auction, the work Time Revealing Truth changed hands for USD 5,625.00 (€ 4,658.77) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gerard Wigmana - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The morning toilet, which sold at auction in July 2000 for GBP 9,400.00 (€ 15,199.68).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gerard Wigmana konnte im April 2018 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Masters Part II wechselte die Arbeit Time Revealing Truth für USD 5.625,00 (€ 4.658,77) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Gerard Wigmana mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The morning toilet beobachtet, die im Juli 2000 für GBP 9.400,00 (€ 15.199,68) versteigert wurde.
