Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Gérard Portielje achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in April 2003. In the 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART auction, the work The squandered supper sold for EUR 23,900.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 9,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gérard Portielje - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The flirtation, which sold at auction in October 2000 for NLG 111,169.00 (€ 53,357.45).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gérard Portielje erzielte im April 2003 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART wurde die Arbeit The squandered supper für EUR 23.900,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 9.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Gérard Portielje mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The flirtation beobachtet, die im Oktober 2000 für NLG 111.169,00 (€ 53.357,45) versteigert wurde.
