Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2005 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS, which included the work The itinerant vendor by Gérard Portielje. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 3,360.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gérard Portielje achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The flirtation in October 2000 with an auction result of NLG 111,169.00 (€ 53,357.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2005 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit The itinerant vendor von Gérard Portielje zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 3.360,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gérard Portielje erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The flirtation im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 111.169,00 (€ 53.357,45).
