In October 2001 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction NINETEENTH CENTURY ART, which included the work An interesting game by Gérard Portielje. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 22,325.00 40% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gérard Portielje - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The flirtation, which sold at auction in October 2000 for NLG 111,169.00 (€ 53,357.45).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 40 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2001 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion NINETEENTH CENTURY ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit An interesting game von Gérard Portielje zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 22.325,00 und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Gérard Portielje mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The flirtation beobachtet, die im Oktober 2000 für NLG 111.169,00 (€ 53.357,45) versteigert wurde.
