Despite a disappointment, a good price for Gerald Balciar
When the work Mother's Pride by Gerald Balciar was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in February 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,375.00 (€ 2,087.18). Despite this disappointing result, Mother's Pride is the most expensive artwork by Gerald Balciar that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Gerald Balciar
Als die Arbeit Mother's Pride von Gerald Balciar im Februar 2019 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.375,00 (€ 2.087,18) den Besitzer. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist Mother's Pride das teuerste Kunstwerk von Gerald Balciar, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
