The work Greek the Ravenous One by Georgios Jakobides was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2017. It achieved a price of GBP 206,250.00 (€ 232,104.16), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 38%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Georgios Jakobides - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Greeg Randpa'S New Pipe, which sold at auction in April 2008 for GBP 535,700.00 (€ 682,941.80).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Greek the Ravenous One von Georgios Jakobides kam im Dezember 2017 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 206.250,00 (€ 232.104,16) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 38%. Für andere Arbeiten von Georgios Jakobides mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Greeg Randpa'S New Pipe beobachtet, die im April 2008 für GBP 535.700,00 (€ 682.941,80) versteigert wurde.
