Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Georgios Jakobides could be acquired at Sothebys in London in November 2012 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 19th Century European Paintings auction, the work Greek smoke Rings (The Little Struggler) changed hands for GBP 115,250.00 (€ 141,976.31) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. Admittedly, works by Georgios Jakobides have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Greeg Randpa'S New Pipe in April 2008 with an auction result of GBP 535,700.00 (€ 682,941.80).
