Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work Entrance of The Kremlin Cathedral by Georgy Antonovich Kosiakov for USD 2,390.00 (€ 1,875.10). This price was achieved in the auction IMPORTANT SILVER, OBJECTS OF VERTU AND RUSSIAN WORKS OF ART at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Georgy Antonovich Kosiakov - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Set Design For A Production Of An Ideal Husband At The Alexander Theatre In St Petersburg, which sold at auction in November 2008 for GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,045.38).
