Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2016 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Masters & 19th Century Art - (including Dutch Impressionism), which included the work Carriages on the Champs-Elysées, Paris; and A flower seller on the Grands Boulevards, Paris by Georges Stein. The price achieved of EUR 3,750.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Georges Stein have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Opera, Paris; and Westminster Bridge, London in September 2007 with an auction result of GBP 19,700.00 (€ 28,248.35).
