Sold at the lower estimate price
In September 2017 Christies in Paris held the auction UN AUTRE XXE SIECLE: LES ARTS DE LA FIGURATION 1900-1950, which included the work Élégante aux gants by Georges Lepape. The result of EUR 1,500.00 was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Georges Lepape have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Vaslav Nijinsky dans ‘Le Spectre de la Rose’ in March this year with an auction result of EUR 10,080.00.
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im September 2017 führte Christies in Paris die Auktion UN AUTRE XXE SIECLE: LES ARTS DE LA FIGURATION 1900-1950 durch, in der auch die Arbeit Élégante aux gants von Georges Lepape zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 1.500,00 entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Georges Lepape auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Vaslav Nijinsky dans ‘Le Spectre de la Rose’ im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 10.080,00.
