Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction The Sleep of Reason | A Private Collection of Surrealist Art Online, which included the work Sans Titre by Georges Hugnet. The price achieved of USD 4,750.00 (€ 4,260.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Georges Hugnet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Prints Of Joan Miró in February 2021 with an auction result of EUR 47,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion The Sleep of Reason | A Private Collection of Surrealist Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sans Titre von Georges Hugnet zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.750,00 (€ 4.260,47) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Georges Hugnet erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Prints Of Joan Miró im Februar 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 47.500,00.
