This artwork by Georges-François Blondel achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in February 2011. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work The Pebble Rotondo and the Shell Rotondo at the Elysian Fields, Stowe sold for GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,503.07) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Georges-François Blondel - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Intérieur du Panthéon à Rome ; et Vue intérieure du portique de l'église Santa Maria Maggiore à Rome, which sold at auction in March 2017 for EUR 8,125.00.
